World Eaters are the purest melee army in Warhammer 40,000, and the faction with the fewest decisions to make. There is almost no shooting, minimal psychic capability and very little in the way of tactical flexibility — the army charges, fights, and charges again. Berzerkers and daemon engines cross the table and the game is decided by whether they arrive.
The Blood Tithe mechanic accumulates as models die on both sides and is spent on powerful effects, so the army gets stronger as the battle grinds on. That gives World Eaters a genuine late-game threat even from behind.
The simplicity is a real virtue for a new player and a real ceiling for an experienced one. There are very few wrong buttons to press, and very few clever ones either.
Charge threat is the entire list-building problem. Transports, reserves and speed all serve the same purpose, and points spent on getting there are worth more than points spent on hitting harder once you arrive.
Take more units than feels necessary. World Eaters need bodies to hold objectives while the fighting units fight, and a list of pure melee hammers can win every combat and lose on primary.
If you are new to World Eaters: Do not charge everything on turn two. Staggering your charges so you always have a fresh threat is the one piece of real tactical depth the army has.
Pure aggression and close combat devastation. World Eaters are the ultimate melee army, charging across the battlefield to claim skulls for Khorne.
