GrimSlate exists to help hobbyists organise lists and games. References to Warhammer 40,000 are descriptive: they identify the game with which the tool is intended to interoperate. Nothing on this site should be read as suggesting an official relationship, licence, partnership, or approval.

The GrimSlate name, logo, and visual identity are intentionally separate from Games Workshop's branding. Users must not present GrimSlate exports, screenshots, or community content as official Games Workshop material.

Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer 40,000 logos, Games Workshop, the names of factions, units, characters, publications, and other associated marks and creative material are trademarks and/or copyrighted works of Games Workshop Limited and its licensors in the territories where those rights apply.

All such rights remain with their respective owners. GrimSlate claims no ownership over third-party names, rules text, artwork, imagery, or other protected material. A reference or attribution does not grant GrimSlate—or its users—a licence to reproduce or commercially exploit that material.

GrimSlate transforms and presents game-reference data assembled from community-maintained sources, including the BSData ecosystem, together with other reference inputs used by the project's data pipeline. Those sources may contain their own copyright notices, licences, attribution requirements, or errors.

• Community contributors retain any rights they hold in their original contributions.
• GrimSlate does not warrant that a community source had permission to include every element it contains.
• Attribution does not imply that a source endorses GrimSlate.
• Where a source licence applies, its terms remain controlling for the relevant material.

Game rules, points, errata, balance updates, and event rulings change frequently. Data conversion and validation can also introduce mistakes. GrimSlate therefore provides reference information and calculations on an “as is” basis and does not guarantee completeness, legality, or tournament acceptance.

• Consult current official Games Workshop publications for authoritative rules and points.
• Consult the relevant organiser or judge for event-specific interpretations and list submission requirements.
• Review exported lists before relying on them; a successful validation in GrimSlate is not an official ruling.
• Combat estimates are mathematical aids, not predictions of actual results.

Links to Games Workshop, BSData, Discord, Ko-fi, or other third-party sites are provided for convenience or attribution. GrimSlate does not control and is not responsible for their content, availability, security, or privacy practices.

We want legitimate concerns handled quickly. If you own or represent rights in material available through GrimSlate, or identify an attribution or data error, send a sufficiently detailed notice identifying the material, the relevant right or correction, the affected URL, and a reliable way to contact you.
